Chennai Electricity Shutdown July 31: Residents across a few parts of Chennai, should get ready for a scheduled power shutdown on Friday, July 31, because the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) is going ahead with routine upkeep work on substations and other electricity infrastructure. This planned outage, is basically tied to TANGEDCO’s preventive maintenance programme which is meant to boost grid dependabilityand also to cut down on sudden unplanned electricity cuts.
TANGEDCO says that the power will stay suspended from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. However, supply could come back a bit sooner, if the maintenance team wraps up the work ahead of time, or earlier than expected.
