Five active Naxals were arrested from two different places of Chhattisgarh’s apprehensive area, Bijapur district, police told on Tuesday. Three of them were arrested from Potenar village under Jangla police station, while two others from the forest of Basaguda police station on Monday. Separate teams of District force and Central Reserve Police Force executed the operations.
Three Naxals have been identified as Lekam Balram (38), Alma Rama (32) and Aalam Pandu (51) arrested from Jangla area. Two others were identified as Veko Podia (27) and Punem Hunga (27) both were active members of Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisan Majdoor Sangthan (DAKMS), a frontal wing of Maoists.
All the arrested Naxals were involved in incidents of torching vehicles, putting up Maoist pamphlets & posters and also damaging roads.
