Raipur: The protest against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Population Register (NPR) has been steadily increasing for the last several days across states.

After Kerala, West Bengal, Punjab and Rajasthan, now Bhupesh Baghel led Chhattisgarh government is also preparing to bring a resolution against the CAA in the state assembly in the budget session.

The Congress government of Chhattisgarh can pass a resolution against the CAA in the budget session of the state assembly.

At the same time, the budget session will start on 24 February i.e. from today. On this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ravindra Choubey said that during the budget session of the Legislative Assembly, the government can present an anti-CAA proposal. He said that in the cabinet meeting held on January 30, the state government had decided to appeal to the Center to repeal the law in view of the protests against the CAA.

According to the information received, meanwhile, the opposition BJP said on Sunday, 23 February 2020, that it would raise the state government’s failure to fulfill the promises made in the elections and farmers related issues during the budget session. If sources are to be believed, Governor Anusuiya Uike will address the House on the first day of the session. The budget session will conclude on April 1.
