Chhattisgarh: Teachers caught intoxicated in surprise check, suspended

Gariaband: On Friday, in a surprise check conducted by the Gariaband District Education Officer in Devbhog block, various irregularities were noted. S S Ogre, District Education Officer took inspections of several schools.

Three teachers were found to be intoxicated and were immediately suspended by the Officer. Another teacher, who reportedly took 10 days leave without informing was also suspended. Inspections took over in 17 schools from where as many as a dozen problems were noted.

The recent surprise inspection has cause stir in all the school of the region.

In December 2019 a school principal Uttar Pradesh was suspended for allegedly beating students not greeting with “As-Salaam-Alaikum”. The horrific incident was reported from Shahjahanpur.

The horrifying had occured when Class VI student Priyanshu told the nodal officer of the district, Dimple Verma that since the children were not being able to say “As-Salaam-Alaikum” they were getting beaten up. Dimple Verma who was on a visit to the Bilhari Secondary School in Tilhar area Sunday, was shown the injury marks.
