Claim Your $2500 Stimulus Payment: Here’s how you can benefit from Delaware’s Clean Transportation Incentive Program, which offers rebates up to $2,500 for eco-friendly vehicle purchases.

Overview of the program

Drivers have been offered rebates totaling $12.8 million since the Clean Transportation Incentive Program began in 2015. Originally scheduled to end on April 30, the program will now offer financial incentives for another year. So far, about 5,500 participants have received rebates totaling $12.8 million.

Is there anything new?

The program’s eligibility criteria have changed this year. Here’s what you need to know:

Only battery-electric and plug-in hybrid cars from licensed dealerships are eligible. Bi-fuel propane, dedicated propane, and natural gas vehicles are no longer eligible.

For new vehicles, the price cap is $50,000. For used vehicles, the price cap is $40,000.

Both new and used vehicles are eligible for the rebate, regardless of whether they are purchased or leased.

How to claim your rebate

You can apply for a rebate within 90 days of purchasing or leasing a vehicle. Here are your options:

A copy of your purchase or lease agreement, proof of Delaware residency, and your state vehicle registration are required if you decide to apply yourself.

Details of the rebate

Depending on the type of vehicle, the rebate amount varies:

New Battery Electric Vehicles:

  • Under $40,000: $2,500

1.2 million drivers saved $500 million last year by using SunPass or other state transponders and crossing toll roads more than 35 times a month.

Opportunities for additional payments

Additionally, you may be eligible for a $500 Walmart settlement, and some programs offer $500 monthly payments without conditions.
