Anil Desai, an MP from Shiv Sena raised a complaint on Monday over chief minister Devendra Fadnavis’ interviews and sought that that the election commission should take action against CM for violation of model code of conduct.

“CM Fadnavis has violated the model code of conduct as his views expressed on a private news channel interviews could influence voters directly,” said Desai.

Another Sena leader Sanjay Raut also alleged that CM putting a party emblem on his coat during an interview and use of an official bungalow ‘Varsha’ for the interview is the violation of election code.  “We suspect that his interviews after the campaign ended, could be paid news,” said Raut.

Raut has also explained that a letter with his counterfeit sign and content is being spread on social media.

However, State Election Commissioner JS Saharia made clear that the commission has stopped printing of ads in newspapers, audio-visual advertisements on private television channels and bulk funded SMSes, it cannot put limits on individual interviews.

BJP also contested Sena allegations saying that Sena has already acknowledged loss, henceforth are surfacing daily with new allegations that have no substance.
