CM Yogi Adityanath to chair second cabinet meeting today

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will head the second cabinet meeting on Tuesday, a week after the first meeting took place. CM Adityanath took a series of important decisions, including the loan waiver for farmers of the state in the first meeting. Thus, a lot is expected from the second cabinet meeting as well.

So far, he has taken several steps in a very short span of time. He had announced that loans worth Rs 30,729 crore of 2.15 crore small and marginalised farmers have been waived off. Furthermore, he had declared that no more illegal slaughter houses will be permitted to be set up in UP.  However, he had also said that those will legal houses won’t be hassled.

His cabinet has also accepted the offer to purchase 100 per cent wheat crop of farmers across the state. Besides, the move to continue with anti-Romeo squads was made. CM Adityanath has also formed a committee of ministers to visit different states to examine their industrial policies

In the meantime, crucial developmental projects of the last Samajwadi Party and BSP governments have come under the scanner of CM Adityanath. He had ordered probes to find out if funds were misused.

“Projects that are under scanner include former CM Akhilesh Yadav’s Gomti river front project, Jai Prakash Narain International Centre in Lucknow, beautification work in old Lucknow areas besides sale of 21 sugar mills at alleged throwaway prices during Mayawati regime,” a senior official said.

An investigation into the sale of sugar mills during BSP regime (2007-12) was also ordered. An under-construction International Cricket Stadium is also under the scanner of the freshly elected government.
