Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a 5-start luxury tourist cruise – Alaknanda at Khadkiya Ghar, Varanasi. Alaknanda is the first ever luxury cruise that will take passengers around all the 84 ghats.
The devotees and tourists will be able to ride the 30-metre double-decked modern liner during sunrise and also during the Ganga Aarti in the evening.
The cruise belongs to the Nordic cruise line company and is fitted with equipment of latest technology.
“Around 125 people can enjoy the trip at a time and take a view of the ghats. It will also guide the tourists about the ancient city,” said Vivek Malvia, the Manager of Nordic cruise line. “Air-conditioned seats are available for 60 people and it can sail in all weather condition,” he added.
In its first phase, the cruise will run between Assi Ghat and Panchgana ghat and every passenger has to pay Rs 750 plus GST for the ride of around 12 kilometers for two hours.
