The Supreme Court has expressed its disappointment over the failure of Central Bureau of Investigation in completing its investigations in the coal block allocation scam cases on Monday. SC observed that it has asked the CBI to complete the continuing investigations in these cases but “it doesn’t seem to come to an end.”

“We have been requesting the CBI from time-to-time to expedite the ongoing investigations, but it doesn’t seem to come to an end,” a three-judge bench led by Justice Madan B Lokur said today.

“We, therefore, require the CBI to file report of the status of investigation in all the pending cases,” the bench added.

Justices Kurian Joseph and AK Sikri was also the part of the bench which is not happy with the way the CBI is working in this particular case. The bench has now fixed the matter for hearing on 9 October.
