Coldwave condition over northwest India likely to subside from January 19: IMD

Beginning tomorrow night, the first western disturbance will hit the area, followed by another on January 20.

Cold conditions prevail in Odisha

The India Meteorological Department has predicted that the coldwave in northwest India would likely end starting on January 19 since two new western disturbances are rapidly nearing the western Himalayan region.

Beginning tomorrow night, the first western disturbance will hit the area, followed by another on January 20. According to the IMD, from January 18 to January 20, light to moderate rain and snowfall are forecast across Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

A cold wave or severe cold wave is also expected to affect large portions of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi tomorrow, as well as a few isolated pockets over Uttar Pradesh and Bihar through January 19.
