Congress Jamtara MLA Irfan Ansari has requested Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to pay his urgent attention into sedition case registered against 3000 unidentified people who took part in anti- Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) march.

More than 4,000 people on Tuesday took to the streets to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the National Population Register (NPR) in Wasseypur, Jharkhand at about 10 AM.

During the demonstrations, protesters raised slogans and posters against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Following this, the administration filed sedition case against three thousand unidentified people, including 7 nominated. Simultaneously a section of treason (124-A) has also been imposed.

Reacting on the same, JPCC working President Ansari raised his concern and requested the newly elected CM to take quick action in the matter.

Meanwhile, police is investigating the case and making full efforts to identify the unknown by watching the video. No arrests have been made as of now.

As per the latest updates, the protesters are discussing the option to mass surrender before the police instead of applying for bail.
