Marking their protest against the deaths of farmers in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur, the Congress on Wednesday performed the ‘Shavaasana’ on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
The party workers gathered at an installation in Bhopal and decided to perform this aasana to show their protest against the farmer killings.
The state has been in a state of unrest following violent clashes between farmers and the police. The farmers have been constantly demanding to waive off their loans. Protests turned violent in the state after the alleged firing by the police killed six farmers.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has promised to take strict action against the culprits in the firing incident.
