In a recent development, a 76-year-old man suspected to be infected with Coronavirus dies in Karnataka ‘s Kalaburagi, a news agency reported.

Recently, in Karanataka four new positive cases have been confirmed. The wife and daughter of the techie infected with novel COVID-19 are among the latest tested positive for the virus in the state.

Another 50-year-old man who travelled to the US via London is another positive case. The state health department is now tracking 2,666 persons who came in contact with the first Covid-19 patient. Health department officials were set to fumigate the school of the daughter as well as the apartment and office complexes where the techie had spent time.

The first positive case of coronavirus was reported in Karnataka on March 9 in Bengaluru and since then Karnataka has confirmed four cases of coronavirus. According to a Govt. statement, all four cases are stable and recovering in isolation facility. Till now, 98,401 passengers have been screened in Karnataka.

Maharashtra went into high alert after 11 persons, including 2 in Mumbai, 8 in Pune and 1 in Nagpur, tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19), Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said here on Wednesday.

Thackeray and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar informed the media late on Wednesday evening that the ongoing Budget Session of Maharashtra Legislature is likely to be curtailed and end on Saturday.
