Kolkata: The doctors along with many other medical health officials in the country are working tirelessly to ensure that necessary care is being provided to all coronavirus patients.

Coronavirus being a super spreading pandemic, the doctors of this country are putting their lives at risk every day while treating patients.

Despite being considerate doctors in Kolkata are not getting proper clothes to carry out their work, doctors treating COVID-19 patients staged a protest after raincoats were handed over to them in the name of protective equipment.

Not being given any of the essential items like face masks, gloves and protective gear, the doctors are putting their own lives at risk as they attend to COVID-19 patients.

There seems to be conflicting opinion on this matter while some experts do believe that there is no harm in using plastic raincoats for protection against coronavirus.

Virologist Amitabha Nandy on her statement to media states, “But raincoats must be tailored to ensure that they cover the neck and upper portion of the shoulders that tend to remain exposed in the conventional ones. “

Nandy also said that the raincoats must be discarded every 4-5 hours if they are being used indoors while treating COVID-19 patients, The Times of India reported.
