India, the third-most-affected country by total cases and fourth by death toll, has added 438,179 cases in the past 7 days alone.

Coronavirus in Odisha: Single-day high of 1,602 COVID cases

India’s Covid-19 caseload crossed 25 lakh on Friday, just eight days after going past the 20-lakh mark, even as more than 65,000 fresh infections were reported for the third straight day while the daily death toll from the virus remained close to 1,000.

India, the third-most-affected country by total cases and fourth by death toll, has added 438,179 cases in the past 7 days alone.

Five most affected states by total tally of cases are Maharashtra (560,126), Tamil Nadu (326,245), Andhra Pradesh (264,000), Karnataka (196,494), and Delhi (150,000).

As many as 21,335,828 people around the world have been diagnosed with Covid-19. While more than 14,125,686 have recovered, 762,429 have died so far. The US, the worst-hit country, has 5,476,117 cases. It is followed by Brazil, which has 3,278,895.

Over 57 Thousand Patients Recovered From COVID-19 In Last 24 Hours: Health Ministry

India has recorded another peak of posting the highest recoveries of COVID-19 cases in a single day with 57,381 patients being cured and discharged in the past 24 hours, stated the Union Health Ministry on Saturday.
 
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said that with such high level of recoveries, India's recovery rate has soared past 70 percent.
 
"About 32 states/UTs have exceeded the 50 percent mark. 12 states/UTs have exceeded the national Recovery Rate. With more patients recovering and being discharged from hospitals and home isolation (in case of mild and moderate cases), the total recoveries have crossed the 18 lakh mark today (18,08,936)," the ministry said in a press statement.
