Coronavirus live updates: India records 4 lakh Covid cases, 12k deaths in June

India’s Covid-19 caseload of 4 lakh in June was the third highest in the world after the US and Brazil.

Coronavirus live updates: India records worst single-day coronavirus spike so far; 11,458 fresh cases reported

India had recorded 5,85,474 lakh cases of Covid-19 in all while the death toll crossed the 17,000 mark to 17,412 on Tuesday. The day’s toll was the biggest surge in deaths since 2,003 fatalities were reported on June 16. India’s Covid-19 caseload of 4 lakh in June was the third highest in the world after the US and Brazil.

A total of 3,34,822 patients have recovered so far in India. The average positivity rate – ratio of positive cases to the number of tests conducted – stood at 8.80 per cent this morning. India has registered a steady increase in positivity rate over the past one week.

While containment zones – areas worst-hit by the pandemic – will continue to remain under strict curbs, more activities shall be opened outside these neighbourhoods.

79 test positive in Bihar's Paliganj; most attended Patna wedding

79 people have tested positive for COVID19 in Paliganj, reports ANI. Most of the cases are related to a wedding ceremony held on 15 June, said Paliganj govt hospital doctor, Ajit Kumar Bihar on Tuesday.  The groom had died two days after his wedding.
