Why CTET is conducted?

Central Teaching Eligibility Test, popularly known as CTET, is a national level entrance examination, is conducted to appoint skilled teachers for Primary level and Upper Primary level.

How many candidates are appearing for CTET 2019?

This year, 8,17,892 candidates have registered for CTET paper I and 4,27,897 candidates for Paper II. 8,38,381 candidates who have registered for both papers.

Eligibility criteria for CTET Primary Teacher (Paper I)

Candidate must have passed senior secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.

Also, he/she must have passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education

Eligibility criteria for CTET Elementary Teacher (Paper II)

A graduate degree in relevant discipline must be obtained.

Also, candidate must have passed or appear in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
