On Tuesday, south Tripura MLA Sudhan Das informed the media that a deaf and mute girl was raped in Radhanagar village of the district on March 4. An FIR has been lodged in Puran Rajbari Police station on March 9. The victim narrated her ordeal to her relatives through the use of sign language.
According to the FIR lodged by the police, the accused was arrested on Tuesday identified as Anil Barman.
As per media reports, the minor has lost both her parents and she currently lives with her relatives. The MLA reiterates while interacting with media, he says that since the minor was unable to speak, hence she could not narrate the horrific incident event after several days of its occurrence.
Police informed that the girl was raped by Barman, who is a tea seller, when she went to the market on March 4.
A similar treacherous act of raping a minor took place in Tripura on Feb 21. A 6-year-old girl was murdered after being raped by a 30-year-old man in southern Tripura. The accused, Kachakla Tripura, was arrested by the police late on Thursday evening.
As per the police, The accused confessed that he after repeated rape strangled the kid to death in the jungle.
