She was beaten up by the doctors and staffs in the course of delivering a child in Delhi. Crime? Third child. Yes, her only crime was that she was becoming a mother for the third time. The pregnant woman was admitted at the Hedgewar hospital to deliver a child when she was beaten and physically assaulted. However, she successfully delivered a baby girl on Saturday.
When the woman’s family was informed about the child’s birth at 2.30 pm, they went to meet her. Then the woman informed them that the doctors and the staffs had beaten her during the delivery. She had a cesarean delivery and while the doctors operated on her, she was physically abused by them. The family also found injuries on her body and then called the police.
According to a report in EENADUIndia, the police took the statement of the doctor but not of the mother who was assaulted. On an addition, the police threatened her husband showing his influence. Following this, he called the media and informed them about the incident.
Later police took the mother’s statement. So far, no hospital authority has come in front with any statement. Though the police said, that the investigations are on into the matter.
