The Delhi government has announced a new two-day work from home (WFH) policy for employees across all government departments following PM Narendra Modi’s recent appeal encouraging flexible work measures to reduce congestion and improve productivity.

According to officials, government employees will now be allowed to work remotely for two days every week under a rotational system to ensure the smooth functioning of departments and public services.

The move is being seen as part of a broader push toward digital governance, reduced traffic pressure, and better work-life balance for employees in the national capital.

Sources in the administration said departments have been directed to prepare rosters and strengthen digital infrastructure for seamless online coordination, file movement, and public service delivery.

The policy is expected to reduce peak-hour traffic congestion and pollution levels in Delhi while also cutting commuting stress for thousands of employees.

Officials clarified that essential services and critical departments will continue functioning physically wherever required. Detailed guidelines regarding attendance, remote monitoring, and departmental implementation are expected to be issued soon.
