Around 101 trains were reported to be running late while, 7 were cancelled and 18 others were rescheduled, as dense fog continued to shroud the national capital in morning hours of Saturday. The low visibility conditions heavily disrupted rail, road and air traffic.

While several trains are running late at the Nizamuddin Railway Station, others that are reported rescheduled/cancelled are from New Delhi and Old Delhi railway stations.

The low visibility badly affected Air Traffic this morning, with at least 5 international and 3 domestic flights reported to be delayed. However, the worst affected was the road traffic as the vehicles were seen snarling with fog lights and indicators turned on.

According to Mahesh Palawat, chief of Skymet, dense fog will persist for another 2-3 days across northern India. “The sky will remain clear in the day with dense to very dense fog in the morning,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) as per a report in Financial Express.

Considering the ongoing fog season, the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) had on Tuesday proclaimed that it’s prepared for tackling the fog season at the India Gandhi International Airport (IGIA). The authority had also maintained continuity of flight operations during the low visibility period during winter.
