As the last touches are being added to the Laxmi idols by the idol makers, the mandaps in Dhenkanal have been decorated with huge scenes, huge gates, and lights for the 11-day festival.

The Gaja Laxmi Puja is happening on Saturday in Kendrapara town as well. Along with the Law College Chhak, the New and Old Bus Stands, Kakata, Madhiala, Shanti Sahi, and many other places in town, pandals have sprung up in a lot of places.

In Dhenkanal, the puja will last for eleven days. In Kendrapara, it will only last for seven days.

A member of the Sadbhavana Club in Kendrapara said this about the puja: “We will try to finish the puja earlier in the day because there is a lunar eclipse in the evening.” I welcome all followers and tourists to Kendrapara to see the puja and ask the Goddess to bless them.
