Did KWAN founder Anirban Blah stage his own suicide?

The Me Too movement has certainly caused an uproar in India, especially in the movie industry, as more women open up about their horrific sexual harassment incidents, at the hands of powerful men. Names like Nana Patekar, Alok Nath, Sajid Khan, Rajat Kapoor, Vikas Bahl, Sushant Singh Rajput, Mukesh Chhabra have been accused of sexual misconduct and most of these cases are currently under investigation. The organisations associated with these men have also been taking stringent action against those accused until proven innocent of the charges.

Another big name to pop up amidst the #MeToo movement in India is Bollywood celebrity manager Anirban Das Blah as he too was accused of sexual harassment. Anirban, who is the founder of KWAN Entertainment was asked to step away from his duties in the organisation recently. In a statement, shared on Twitter, the official spokesperson of KWAN tweeted, “We have asked Anirban Blah to forthwith step aside from his duties, activities and responsibilities at KWAN, its subsidiaries and affiliates with immediate effect.”

However, in some shocking news, Anirban is said to have tried committing suicide today, as revealed by The Hindu. Anirban was rescued at 12:30 am when cops found him walking towards Vashi bridge, after getting a tip-off. The police revealed that they had found Anirban climbing the barricades of the bridge and was crying. When they took him to the police station, Anirban shared that he was frustrated by the #MeToo allegations against him and the defamation that he and his family had to face.

However according to Pinkvilla,  Anirban’s apparent suicide attempt is said to be a staged suicide drama. According to Pinkvilla Blah received a call about a story that was to be published in a newspaper about him. The alleged victim had given out details about what Anirban had done to her. In response, Anirban asked the newspaper to not put out the story as his reputation will be ruined. When they refused to budge, Anirban threatened that he would commit suicide.

He sent them a suicide note as well with the exact location of where he was going to commit the act. In response, the newspaper informed the cops to stop him and held the story by a day. Kwan, which is a talent management agency handles some profile clients such as Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor. Ever since Anirban’s name has come up in the sexual harassment case, the future of the company lies uncertain.
