While global debates and discussions on gender equality, equal rights for both gender and a huge pay gap is still on, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan took to twitter to make his stand clear on gender equality, on Thursday morning.
The veteran Bollywood actor can be seen holding a placard in a tweet on the microblogging site in his latest post. The message on the placard reads:
“When I die, the assets that I shall leave behind shall be shared equally between my daughter and my son! #GenderEquality #WeAreEqual.” He captions the image, ” #WeAreEqual .. and #genderequality … the picture says it all!! (sic).”

In India, we have a tradition to transfer all the assets of the father to his son/s. Thus, this step by the actor is being seen as breaking the stereotype. He has indeed set some new standards in the society.
The actor had been quite vocal about his stand on gender equality earlier as well. Recently, he made headlines for his role in a women-oriented film Pink. The film took a swipe at patriarchy-driven country and shows how the women in the nation are expected to live by some regressive standards.
