DMK Working President M K Stalin on Friday announced the party MLAs would vote against the Palaniswami government on Saturday.

Addressing press conference, Stalin said “People from all walks of life have been badly affected due to the political crisis in Tamil Nadu, If he (TN CM) seeks vote of confidence tomorrow, we will oppose him in the assembly. Our 89 MLAs will vote against him.”

On Thursday, Stalin greeted Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on taking over the top post in the state. He also asked him not to get operated remotely from Bengaluru, in an apparent reference to AIADMK chief V K Sasikala.

He said, “Should not seek consultations from Bengaluru prison” and see that oath and secrecy is not infringed upon.

Earlier today, daughter of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and a member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party, Muthuvel Karunanidhi Kanimozhi cleared that DMK is against the appointment of E Palaniswamy as the new Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and won’t be participating in his floor test tomorrow.

She was quoted as saying, “DMK has made it very clear that we’ll not be against/for it. We’ll not be participating.”

On Thursday, E Palaniswami took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in the presence of TN governor C Vidyasagar Rao.

His cabinet includes 31 ministers out of which 30 ministers were earlier there in O Panneerselvam’s cabinet.

After the oath taking ceremony, Palaniswami along with his cabinet ministers visit the Jayalalithaa memorial to pay their tribute to the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.
