The driver of a Karnataka Administrative Service officer allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday after blaming Karnataka mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy and a KAS officer of harassing him, as per the reports. The incident occurred in Mandya and the deceased was identified as Ramesh Gowda.

Gowda claimed in his suicide note that he knew details on how Janaradhan Reddy converted ₹100 crore black money into white. Therefore, he was constantly receiving death threats.

The suicide note claims that Reddy and BJP MP Sriramulu met Bheema Nayak, a special land acquisition officer in a five star hotel in Bangalore several times before the lavish wedding of Reddy’s daughter.

With 20 per cent cut, Nayak wanted Reddy to help him get a ticket to fight the 2018 Karnataka elections for this illegitimate act. A case has been booked against Nayak and his driver Mohammed.

Gowda, the son of Chikka Hombalegowda from Kadukottanahalli in the Taluk worked as a driver in Bengaluru.

Former Karnataka minister and mining baron Reddy was in the headlines recently for his daughter’s wedding in which he reportedly spent over ₹500 cr.
