The Election Commission of India website remains un-updated for as long as two hours on Tuesday, December 12. The glitch which was resolved in almost an hour of effort was apparently due to a 60-character long name! One of Mizoram’s political party had this long of a name.
In the elections contested on 7 November, Mizo National Front won 26 seats out of 40. Ruling Indian National Congress (INC) had to face a lot of disappointments and managed to win only 5 seats. Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) for the first time open its account in the state. The result for the 40-seat state was announced along with four other states on December 11.
