The Australia India Youth Dialogue 2017 is all set to kick off from February 15 in Melbourne and Sydney. With 15 delegates each representing India and Australia, AIYD will bring together some of the “brightest talent and emerging young leaders”.

The dialogue that is held every year is a platform for the young leaders to interact, exchange ideas and thoughts, and work together towards building lasting partnerships between both the countries.

In its sixth year, the AIYD has already “connected 150 accomplished and emerging young leaders from the two countries, and provided support to ongoing collaboration”. “Over the past six years, the AIYD has built a diverse community of young Australian and Indian leaders who are deeply invested in the Australia-India bilateral relationship,” said Harinder Sidhu, Australian High Commissioner to India.

The 2017 Dialogue will focus on health, skills and innovation, and has delegates from various walks of life, from social change makers to elite sportspeople and entrepreneurs; from medics, academics and writers to strategists, innovators and film directors.

“We are thrilled to welcome such an eclectic array of delegates to this year’s AIYD conference – each bringing unique talent, skills and insight to the Dialogue,” said Shaun Star, Chair, Australia India Youth Dialogue.

“The platform enables a rich exchange of ideas between our emerging leaders, encouraging participants to think creatively about how the Australia-India relationship may be strengthened further through their collaboration and ongoing efforts,” said Star.

Tata Consultancy Services, UTS:INSEARCH and Macquarie University support the AIYD.
