EPFO WhatsApp Channel for PF Balance: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has started an official WhatsApp channel to make it easier for members to get important PF-related updates. EPFO announced the new channel through a post on X on September 13, 2026. Members can join through the official WhatsApp link or by scanning the QR code shared in the announcement.
The new service adds another digital way for EPFO members to stay updated. EPFO already provides services through its member portal, passbook website and the UMANG app.
How To Join EPFO’s WhatsApp Channel
Members can use the official link shared by EPFO or scan the QR code from its announcement. The channel is meant to provide important EPFO information and service updates directly on WhatsApp.

Reports about the new service also say members may be able to use simple prompts after joining. Some reports have mentioned features such as checking PF balance, claim status and recent transactions. However, the full list of services and detailed process has not been clearly published by EPFO yet.
For this reason, members should follow the options shown through the official EPFO service and avoid giving personal details to unknown WhatsApp numbers or links.
EPFO Already Has Other Digital Services
EPFO’s official passbook portal continues to offer PF passbook and claim status access. Members can log in using their UAN and password. The organisation also warns members not to share their Aadhaar, PAN, bank details, OTP or other personal information with anyone.
Other Ways To Check PF Balance
Members don’t need to depend only on WhatsApp to see their PF details. EPFO currently provides simple options for checking the balance. Members can send “EPFOHO UAN ENG” by SMS to 7738299899 from their UAN-registered mobile number. The last three letters can be changed for the preferred language. Another option is to give a missed call to 9966044425 from the registered number.

The UMANG app and the official EPFO member portal also continue to provide online access to EPF services. The member portal currently directs users to UMANG for some UAN services including activation and generation.
