‘We are evolving backwards, from humans to animals,’ says Akshay Kumar on mass molestation

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar reacted on the mass molestation episode that happened on New Year’s Eve in Bangalore and called it “truly shameful”. The actor slammed the mass molestation on a video that he posted on Twitter and captioned it as, “The Bangalore incident makes me feel we are evolving backwards – from humans to animals, rather beasts because even animals are better! Truly shameful.”

Akshay found it truly disgusting that some people would validate the entire incident by blaming women for their choice of dress. “I am ashamed to be a human being today. I was returning from my New Years vacation with my four-year-old daughter in my arms when I learnt about the molestation incident in Banglore. I don’t know how you all felt about it, but my blood started boiling,” he said.

“I am a daughter’s father but even if I was not one, I feel if a society cannot respect its women, it doesn’t deserve to be called a humane society. What’s most disgusting is that people have the guts to justify such shameful acts by criticizing women for their choice of clothes,” the actor added.

The actor is the latest personality to show his concern over the incident, which has attracted a massive controversy. The star, who is the father of two kids, also said, “Women should not consider themselves inferior to men… Just be fearless, be alert and learn self-defense.”

A number of women were allegedly molested regardless of huge police presence at a large crowd in Bangalore during New Years Eve festivities.
