An official letter from the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Mokama Block in Patna has shown that the work of NRC has commenced in Bihar despite Chief Minister Nitish Kumar saying that the NRC would not be implemented in Bihar.

The letter was firstly sent on January 18 in which they have asked to nominate two teachers from their schools to work on the NRC process. However, the principals of Rampur Dumra, Marachi and Mor High Schools in the Mokama block did not comply with the demands and did not send the names of the teachers even after 10 days of the letter being issued.

The letter sent on January 28 by the BDO contains a warning to the teachers of the schools who have refused to work on NRC related duties.

FACT CHECK:

Post the questioning, the BDO issued a new letter on January 29 clarifying that the earlier letter contained a ‘printing mistake’ which was later rectified.

When we got in touch with the BDO, he had confirmed sending a show-cause notice to the concerned employee by issuing a corrigendum.

Final Verdict:

The letter sent by the BDO had a printing mistake which has been rectified now.
