Fact Check: Truth behind viral dancing video of Saryu Rai after defeating Raghubar Das

Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das on Monday lost to Independent candidate Saryu Roy who was part of the BJP Cabinet in the Jharkhand Assembly elections. A video of him dancing going viral on social media claiming it is after his victory.

Roy has won from the Jamshedpur West constituency twice in the past, and this time, he shifted to the Jamshedpur East Constituency to take on the chief minister after he was denied a ticket in his old constituency.

The video seems old but a user who shared it wrote in the caption, “Saryu Rai’s blatant dance after defeating Raghubar.”

In a 45-second video, Saryu Rai is seen dancing to the famous song Aapre Kya Hoga Janabe Aali of the Hindi film ‘Lawaris’. On the dance, he is seen enacting Amitabh Bachchan.

But the truth is that the video being circulated is old.

Nowhere in the video, it was stated that the man dancing in the video is Saryu Rai.

Also, there were some media reports which stated that the old man is Saryu Rai.

Final Verdict:

The old man in the video is NOT Saryu Rai and it is NOT a recent video.
