Bomb blast in Guwahati

As many as five people were shot dead by suspected ULFA (Independent) militants in Tinsukia district, Assam.

West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, strongly condemned the attack. In a two-tweet post, she said, “Terrible news coming out of Assam. We strongly condemn the brutal attack in Tinsukia and the killing of Shyamlal Biswas, Ananta Biswas, Abhinash Biswas, Subodh Das. Is this the outcome of recent NRC development? We have no words to express our deep sorrow to the grieving families. The perpetrators must be punished at the very earliest”

Mamata recently tweeted that in protest of the killings in Assam the AITC(All India Trinamool Congress) will organise protest rallies tomorrow in different parts of north and south Bengal including Siliguri and Kolkata.

Earlier, on October 13, a low intensity bomb was detonated in Guwahati by the outfit in order to protest against the Centre’s bid to get through the Citizenship (Ammendment) Bill, 2016. In that blast, five people were injured.
