Telangana: Former MP Madhu Yashki’s convoy attacked, TRS blamed

Former Nizamabad MP Madhu Yaskhi Gaud’s convoy was attacked near Metpally in Telangana on Thursday night while he was on his way to Nizamabad, to caste hos vote in the State elections. Yaskhi Goud escaped unhurt, but blamed Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for the attack.

The Metpally police rushed to the spot and sent away the attackers. They have also registered a case and are investigating it.

While the former Nizamabad MP alleged that the group of people were supporters of TRS leader K Kavitha, reports also suggest that the attackers were supporters of former MLA Komireddy Ramulu, a Congress leader who was aspiring for a ticket from Korutla. However, Juvvadi Narsingha Rao’s name made it in the final list after intense fighting.

Reacting to the attack, Madhu Yaskhi took to Twitter to condemn the attack. He also tagged the Twitter handle of TRS party in his post. “TRS party, if you think by attacking me, you can silence my voice, then you are wrong. There will be 100 Madhu Yaskhi to fight and seek justice for the people of Telangana. You have strengthened my resolve today,” he tweeted, with a phrase in Hindi, which reads: “A person who has god’s blessing cannot be harmed by anyone.”

Reacting to the same, TRS leader Abid Rasool Khan said that Goud had stage managed the attack and said that Yaskhi Goud might have gone to distribute money to voters.
