Without a failure once again, Game of Thrones has released a nerve chilling teaser for finale season on Sunday night, teasing us in and out with its ‘Army of Dead Coming Soon for Starks’. The all-new season 8 video also reveals its official premiere date.
The teaser features Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), and Jon Snow Kit Harington), preparing to face an unseen but apparently icy threat in the family crypt below Winterfell. The trio walk past the memorial statues of those who have fallen in past seasons (such as Ned and Catelyn Stark) as their voices hauntingly beckon. The three then come upon statues of themselves as the tomb begins to turn icy cold, presumably as the Night King nears.
The piece teases the highly anticipated face-off between the Starks and the Army of the Dead in the final episodes when a major battle will take place at Winterfell.

The way the new clip is set up suggests it has been purposely shot for marketing purposes and doesn’t include real footage from the show’s final season, of which we got a four-second glimpse earlier this month. As has been outlined in early reports the season will open at Winterfell with Daenerys and her army arriving to prepare for the coming war with the White Walkers. In early descriptions, Sansa is not pleased to meet Daenerys.
The final season of Game of Thrones will consist of six feature-length episodes, which have been described as mini-movies. The HBO fantasy drama will debut season 8 on April 14, 2019. That means the final episode of Game of Thrones will air May 19.
