Delhi Court issues bailable warrant against Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir who recently played his last match with Delhi Ranji team against Andhra in on-going Ranji Trophy tournament before taking his retirement from all forms of competitive cricket had to face a legal hassle. The Delhi Court issued a bailable warrant against Gambhir yesterday, in a case associated with real estate fraud.

The former cricketer was the brand ambassador of Rudra Buildwell Reality Pvt. Ltd, a real estate firm which has been accused of cheating, expropriation, and conspiracy of a huge sum of money. The investment made by the customers in Delhi NCR was collected by the company on behalf of the cricketer which put him under the legal consequences as the money was collected by the company but the project has not been delivered.

Gambhir’s revision plea was rejected by the Court, then also he did not appear for the case repeatedly, so the Delhi court has to issue a bailable warrant against him. Now, the former cricketer took to Twitter and explained his side of the story. Gambhir wrote, “Since last evening there’ve been media reports about bailable warrants issued against me for not appearing before the Court.I’d like to clarify that dates for an appearance in Court coincided either with my playing commitments for Delhi Ranji Team and/or other professional reasons,”

Gambhir claimed that he was always represented by his advocates in the Court and he was merely a Brand Ambassador and an Additional Director for a short period of time.

Gambhir also tweeted that the allegations are against the company and its promoters who received money from home buyers.

Gautam Gambhir concluded his tweets by saying that his sympathies are with the home buyers and will do everything possible to help them.
