Golden Globes 2017: ‘La La Land’ takes record with seven prizes; ‘Moonlight’ wins best drama

Musical flick ‘La La Land’ swept away the Golden Globes Awards 2017, which was held in Beverly Hills on Sunday. The movie created Golden Globes history with seven wins.

‘La La Land’ won the Best Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical). The film’s leading actor Ryan Gosling won the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical). The actor dedicated the award to his ladylove Eva Mendes. As expected, Emma Stone won the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical) for her portrayal of an aspiring actress in ‘La La Land’. Damian Chazelle too bagged the Best Director and Best Screenplay Award for the musical love story. The Original score and original song award were also bagged by the movie.

Barry Jenkins-directed film Moonlight won the award for best drama film.

Casey Affleck was named best actor for his performance in Manchester By The Sea’ and French actress Isabelle Huppert bagged the best actress award.

French thriller ‘Elle’ was named as the best foreign language film.
