In a shocking incident, a drunk doctor at a government hospital in Gujarat attempted to perform delivery following which the mother and new born baby died.
The relatives of the woman notified the police after which the case was filed.
According to sources, the 22-year-old pregnant woman identified as the victim Kamini Chachia, was admitted to the government hospital after she started experiencing labour pains. The doctor in charge was reportedly drunk when he performed the delivery, following which the woman and the child died.
Police detained the accused doctor on Monday night in Botad and charged him under the Prohibition Act.
The body of the lady has been sent for postmortem for further details in the matter. Police also registered accidental death of lady but is waiting for the medical report to know the exact cause of death.
