A case of internal conflict inside Gujarat BJP has come to light when a BJP leader has slapped another leader from the party itself alleging that they lost Botad Marketing Yard due to former minister, Saurabh Patel.  Bhikha Bhai, the chairman of marketing yard of Botad district in Gujarat was slapped by his own party member Ajit Wala in front of the party workers.

This is in the aftermath of the election of the Botad Marketing Yard that took place on Friday. But, when results came out on Saturday, BJP lost all eight seats of the agricultural board with Congress emerging as the sole winner, reports NewsCode .

Significantly, the Botad Marketing Yard has been in control of the BJP for the last 15 years. Thus, the defeat amplified the clashes among the local leaders who then started a verbal fight that ultimately led Ajit Wala to slap Bhikha Bhai.

Incidentally, Botad is a stronghold of Saurabh Patel since years and he always contested from this seat. Even in this poll, Ajit Wala couldn’t get ticket due to Patel. However, BJP lost the election later.

This defeat for the BJP is also significant for the fact that all these seats were of the farmer. Clearly, the BJP’s internal conflict has proved that the rural voters are not happy with BJP. However, no statement has been received from the leader of the state BJP in this case yet.
