Film Companion Hindi did a story recently actor Savi Sidhu is working as a security guard to make ends meet, while also financing his acting aspirations. In the interview, Sidhu doesn’t blame anyone for his condition, rather that, the money he makes from his acting assignments wasn’t enough to take care of his health and home needs. Savi Siddhu has acted in acclaimed movies like Anurag Kashyap’s Gulaal and Black Friday.
These movies were directed by Anurag Kashyap. So a few publications reached out to the director, asking his views on the story. Perhaps frustrated that he is being made responsible for ignoring an actor who worked in his films, Anurag took to Twitter to clear his side. In a series of tweets, the film-maker talks about how not just Sidhu, but quite a few known actors are known to take up supplementary jobs to support themselves financially. Kashyap also talks about how he himself was a waiter, how Nawazuddin Siddiqui was a watchman. Basically, Anurag Kashyap washed off the responsibility of the well-being of the actor he once worked with.
There are so many actors out there who don’t have work. I respect Savi Siddhu as an actor and have cast him thrice when he earned the role. I respect him that he chose to live his life with dignity and picked a job unlike so many entitled out of work actors who have either

Kashyap also mentioned that he has a deep respect for Sidhu that he has chosen to live with dignity and not end up like other out-of-work actors who resorted to alcoholism. Lastly, he says that if the public really cares about these actors, then they should watch their movies in theatres.
