Jamaat-ud-Dawah chief Hafiz Saeed claimed responsibility for the Akhnoor attack where terrorists attacked a General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) camp in the Jammu and Kashmir district, while addressing hundreds of its activist.

The Pakistan-based terror mastermind was heard on a tape saying that four of his “young boys” carried out Monday’s attack on an army camp in Akhnoor and “killed 30 soldiers.”

However, the army has rubbished the boast, saying “there has been no 30-person casualty count in Akhnoor”.

Three civilians, who worked for the GREF camp, were killed during the attack at Akhnoor, near the Line Of Control.  Following the attack, the Army recovered four magazines, three grenades, three bottles of inflammable chemical and two combat jackets.

The terror group was sent from Pakistan to target unarmed detachment of army that included in the construction of strategic defence infrastructure along the LoC, said sources to TIMES NOW. The terrorists used flammable weapons to set ablaze GREF vehicles and the building, sources added.

Reportedly, the militants brought assault rifles and hand grenades with them apart from opening indiscriminate firing on the GREF building. They lobbed a grenade at the building too. About 10 labourers present in the building managed to evade the terrorists’ bullets.
