It all started on the couch of Koffee With Karan when Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul received a lot of flak for their racist comments on the show. Soon after the show was aired, Twitterverse bashed the cricketers for their racist remarks, and as a result, BCCI suspended the cricketers from the ODI series against Australia and sent them back to India to face a committee set up to probe their sexist and inappropriate comments on the show.
After the show was aired, captain of the Indian Cricket team, Virat Kohli, reacted on the row as he said, “We as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers don’t align with those views, those were individual opinions. We are still waiting for a decision to be made.”
And now, after all the brouhaha, Hardik Pandya’s rumoured girlfriend and actress Esha Gupta was asked about Hardik Pandya’s racist comments during an event in the city and to which, Esha Gupta denied being friends with Hardik as she said, “Who is the one who told you (Hardik Pandya) is my friend?”
Thereafter, Esha Gupta bashed the cricketers for his racist comments as she said, “Firstly, women should not compare themselves with men. We are the best in every respect. I don’t want anyone to feel bad, but why don’t you give birth to a child? We suffer from periods five days every month and even then we have to dance, go to an office, and take care of the children. When you can do all this, you become superior,” adding, “I do not think anyone should talk bad about any woman, if you think your family is not worried about it, then be it, but it is wrong on Humanity.”
