Haryana Assembly Elections: INLD promises 33% tickets to women

INLD national president and former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala on Wednesday informed that 33 per cent tickets of the party tickets in the upcoming Assembly elections will be given to women candidates, he assured the implementation of the Swaminathan panel’s recommendations.

While addressing a “Samman Divas” rally organised to mark the 106th birth anniversary of the late Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal, Chautala said: “I assure you when the tickets will be announced on October 2, there will 33 per cent tickets to women. The youth will also be given a good share.”

“We will implement the Swaminathan report and make such an arrangement that even if the INLD doesn’t remain in power you will not suffer. The farmers will be lending money instead of borrowing,” he further added.

Chief Election Commissioner of India Sushil Arora on Saturday, September 21, sounded the poll bugle for Haryana, Maharashtra, declaring the complete schedule for assembly polls in the two states. While the elections are set to take place on October 21 the counting will take place on October 24.
