Gurgaon: The first phase of the Census will be held in 2021, it will include the listing of houses and their enumeration, It will start from May 21 and June 15 in Gurgaon. In a meeting conducted on Tuesday, the city magistrate and nodal officer Manish Sharma said that this time the data collection will happen through a specially-designed mobile application.
The Haryana government is aiming to digitize the entire process.
The process including a listing of houses will happen from May 1 and the National population register (NPR) will also be prepared. The urban and rural areas will be covered in the first phase of the listing process. The data will be uploaded through the “Census of India” mobile application.
Manish Sharma said, “The idea is to make the process paperless with the use of an app, which is user-friendly as well. It would be convenient to collect data through the app which would help us save time in data collection,”
The second phase of the census data collection will be conducted from February 9, 2021 to February 28, 2021. In the second phase, the data of people living in every household will be registered. Haryana Public Administration Institute (HIPA) has trained Master trainers to collect data for the Census 2021.
A total of 49 master trainers have completed their training so far. After master training, other training will be conducted for the field trainers under which 56 field trainers will be taught about the procedure.
The entire work will be monitored through a portal called Central Monitoring and Management System (CMMS). Enumerators will conduct door-to-door counting, will ask for Aadhaar numbers, Voter ID, Passport, PAN and driving license from the residents.
A pre-test Census will also be conducted in 2019, from August 12 till September 30, across the country.
