Recently, while addressing a public meet, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar made a controversial statement saying that the rape incidents have not increased, and have rather decreased over time. He went on to say that rape incidents are nothing new to the society. Such cases have been happening since ever and so, continue even today.
In a video from the public meet, CM Khattar can be seen stating that the biggest concern is that 80-90% of such incidents happen within family members and that they go unreported. Khattar further stated that there are also such cases where the two people know each other very well and even roam around together, but in case even the slightest of disturbances happen, a complaint is registered under rape charges.
