On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a gathering at Shillong on the occasion of Centenary Celebrations of Bharat Sevashram via video conferencing.

Praising the efforts of Bharat Sevashram Organisation, the PM said, “Be it a natural disaster or be it a birth of worry by the struggle of humans,  every situation has been tackled in a proper manner by the Bharat Sevashram Organisation (BSO),”.

Bharat Sevashram Sangha is a vast network of volunteers across the globe dedicated to helping people in distress. It was founded in 1917 by the Acharya Srimat Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj.

Speaking about Swami Pranavananda, the Prime Minister reminded people that he never liked social divisions and inequalities. Driving his slogan of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’, PM told the mass that with this mantra we aim to strengthen all and move forward.

Stressing on PM Modi’s ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’, a cleanliness drive, he once again urged everyone to work towards a clean India and clean Northeast. “To help the poor and the needy is a service of purity, this is penned in our scriptures,” he said.
