In a shocking case, a team of doctors has recovered spoons, screwdrivers, toothbrushes, a kitchen knife and a door latch from the stomach of a man suffering from a mental disorder in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district.

After the man complained of acute abdominal pain, the man was admitted to Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College in Mandi. The man identified as Karan Sen (35) was said to be suffering from schizophrenia for the past two decades.

A few days back the man complained of a cyst protrusion in his abdomen after which he was taken to a local hospital in Sunder Nagar. The doctor after examining the patient found a screwdriver in his stomach. He was then immediately referred to a hospital in Mandi.

After the X-ray and radiography report of the man came, it was revealed that he had several foreign items inside his stomach.

The doctor said “It took nearly four hours for the team of surgeons to operate upon Karan. He added He is out of danger now. This was a first of its kind surgery in the college. The team removed eight spoons, two screwdrivers, two toothbrushes, a kitchen knife and a door latch from the stomach of the man.”
