Popular British physicist Stephen Hawking said that the humans will need to find and settle on another planet within the next 100 years to survive climate change, asteroid strikes and overpopulation. According to Hawking, time is running out for the Earth and humanity will need to leave the planet for its existence.
In a documentary, Expedition New Earth – part of the BBC’s new science season Tomorrow’s World – Hawking and his former student Christophe Galfard, travel the world to discover how humans could live in outer space.
The series aims to find Britain’s supreme invention by asking public to vote on the innovation that has been the most influential in their lives, The Telegraph reported.
Hawking had cautioned last month that the strong instinct of humans, combined with rapid growth in technology may end us all by nuclear or biological war. Only a ‘world government’ may prevent this imminent doom, he said.
As per the physicist, humans may lack the expertise as a species to stay alive.
