Bihar NEET protest case: A man from Bihar’s Kishanganj district has said that police wrongly booked him in a case linked to last week’s protest over the NEET paper leak. His name is Mohammad Sadaqat. He claims he was not in Bihar when the protest happened because he has been living in Russia for the past four months. In a video message, he asked the Bihar police to remove his name from the case. The Daily Jagran said the video could not be checked independently.
Sadaqat also questioned how his name was added to the FIR when he says he was not even in the state. He was booked in a case linked to the protest in Bahadurganj on July 25. In his message, he asked for a fair check of the matter and requested that his name be removed from the FIR.

Police say People can Raise their Grievances
Kishanganj SP Hari Mohan Shukla did not clearly accept or reject Sadaqat’s claim. Instead, he said people with complaints can come forward and speak to the police. “All those who have any grievances related to the protests could approach the police for redressal,” the SP said when asked about Sadaqat’s video.
The police response kept the door open for any person who thinks their name was added wrongly. But so far, the force has not said anything publicly to confirm that Sadaqat was present at the protest. The whole matter has become part of a wider debate around the police action taken after the NEET protest in Bihar.
Bihar Government moves to Withdraw Cases
This comes at a time when the Bihar government has already announced a big change on the protest cases. On Monday, the BJP-led state government said it would withdraw all FIRs filed in connection with the NEET paper leak protests and also release people who were arrested in these cases. The home department order said the government would pull back “all FIRs, complaints and show-cause notices issued in connection with incidents that took place before 6 am on July 26.”

The government’s move was seen as a major relief for protesters and students who were caught in the police action after the agitation. Even so, Sadaqat says his own case still needs a clean look because, according to him, he was not in India at the time. He has asked the authorities to examine the facts properly and clear his name if he was added by mistake.
