Ice Age 6: Boiling Point:Who would’ve thought we’d still be talking about Ice Age after all these years? Seriously, that franchise just refuses to melt away. Anyway, after what feels like a century of rumors and fans requesting for more mammoth madness, Disney finally broke their silence: Ice Age 6 is happening. Yes it’s official, Manny, Sid, Diego, all the prehistoric characters are coming back for another round. The movie is called Ice Age: Boiling Point. Which, honestly, sounds like everyone’s about to have a collective meltdown.
Ice Age 6: Boiling Point Release Date
The name dropped at Disney nerd-fest Destination D23 and people lost their minds. Originally, the movie was set to drop in December 2026, but, well, Hollywood scheduling is about as stable as Sid on ice skates. The final (for real this time) release date is now February 5, 2027.
Cast
They didn’t try to swap out all your favorites with any other celebrities. The beloved herd is reuniting with:
- Ray Romano as Manny the mammoth
- John Leguizamo as Sid the sloth
- Queen Latifah as Ellie
- Denis Leary as Diego the saber-tooth tiger
- Simon Pegg as Buck the weasel
Small bummer, though, Joy Behar, who played Sid’s mom, got left in the Ice Age dust. She wanted back in, but Disney ghosted her of early 2025, production was already midway, and her exclusion seems final for this outing.
Blue Sky Studios (the OG) closed shop in 2021, so Disney’s 20th Century Animation is running the show now. Still, they brought back Michael Thurmeier and Galen T. Chu to keep things feeling familiar, so don’t worry, the weird faces and slapstick chaos aren’t going anywhere. Supposedly, they’re adding some new creative twists, but, you know, we’ve heard that before.

Ice Age 6: Boiling Point Plot
Disney’s playing things close to the chest, like always. But the hints so far? Sounds spicy. Apparently, Boiling Point will drag our furry friends into a world full of lava, dinosaurs, and volcanic mayhem. Basically, it’s the Lost World, but with more fart jokes and Scrat chasing his cursed acorn straight into a volcano. Expect the usual mix: chaos, goofy laughs, and enough heart to make you forget you’re watching a movie about a talking mammoth.
The original crew is back, and it sounds like they’re going all-in with bigger set pieces, more dinosaurs, and enough action to make Michael Bay jealous. Plus, it’s been, what, over a decade since the last proper movie? People are ready for some prehistoric shenanigans, and honestly, so am I.
To sum it up: Ice Age: Boiling Point is shaping up to be the wild comeback nobody realized they were missing until now. Expect all the goofy humor, weird heartfelt moments, and out-of-control Scrat scenes you remember with a side of lava and dinosaurs just to shake things up. Whether you’re old enough to remember the first movie in theaters or you’re just discovering it now, this one’s probably worth a watch.
